In 2012 Jerry Sandusky was convicted of sexually assaulting 10 boys over 15 years, and was found guilty on 45 of 48 counts brought against him. Now is back in court, testifying for an hour during his appeals hearing on Friday, hoping to get his 45 count conviction overturned or get a new trial. Sandusky argued that errors by his prior attorneys led to his conviction four years ago on child sex abuse charges and that he deserves a new trial.
Maybe Sandusky didn’t get the best representation prior to and during his trial. Maybe he should have been allowed to testify the first time around. Maybe his interview with Bob Costas made him look bad. Sandusky may have legitimate arguments as to why he may have been inadequately represented. But there is one problem with his argument. Jerry Sandusky wasn’t convicted of child sex abuse because of errors by his defense team. He was convicted because he sexually molested children. See the Freeh Report. See the grand jury presentment. See Second Mile. Look at everything written by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette who broke much of the news regarding this case. Evidence is evidence.
Now to deal with the Penn State truthers.
